Sierra Hadley

I am currently a pediatric cardiac ICU travel nurse and a pediatric nurse practitioner student. I am one of four members of The Black Travel Nurse on Youtube. Traveling helps to remind me that there’s a whole world outside of the United States. I would also go as far as to call it a hobby because I do travel often and I thoroughly enjoy it. In the future, I hope to combine my passions of health care and my passions of global travel!

Where is your favorite place that you’ve traveled?

I absolutely enjoyed Cuba! The culture by far is what won me over. But, I loved that I didn’t feel like a tourist on that vacation. I stayed in an Airbnb, had dinners in the homes of local families, and caught rides with pretty much anyone that was willing to pull over. I’m usually never THAT comfortable, but in Cuba I felt extremely safe at all times.

What location is on your travel wish list?

  I want to visit everywhere! I love immersing myself into the cultures of others. But, if I had to choose one country, I would visit Egypt!

Let’s talk travel bag; what is something that you never travel without?

I never travel without my passport pouch. It helps keep all of my important items and frequent necessities close to me and in a compact size so I don’t feel weighed down while exploring new territory. Oh! And of course, inside of that pouch is my little blue book!
